Men’s Club League Rules

Weekly Format:

5:45 Shotgun start.  Two-man net best ball, match play.  A total of nine points are available per match; each hole is worth 1 point.  If you tie on a hole, each team will receive ½ point.

Playoffs:

Each team will accumulate points throughout the season.  The top 16 teams in each division will make the playoffs…2 teams in each division stay home.  We have 3 divisions; Monday Night, American League and National League (Wednesday Night).  Teams will be ranked 1^st – 48^th based on points and seeded in the brackets.  1^st – 24^th will be in the Championship Division and 25^th – 48^th will be in the Toilet Bowl Division.  Yes, Monday night league and Wednesday night league combine for the playoffs.  The top 8 teams in the Championship Division and the top 8 teams in the Toilet Bowl Division will receive a bye into the second round of the playoffs.  Subs are not allowed during the playoffs.

Handicaps:

The men’s club has its own handicapping system.  Handicaps are based on your last 10 rounds played in men’s league…including Saturday Men’s Club Events.  Your average score over par, less 90% will be calculated for your handicap.  Example:  Average score over par 8.8.    90% of 8.8 = 7.92   Handicap = 8.  You may use your scores as an extra until you have 2 scores posted for your handicap.  Double bogey is the highest score you can make for handicap purposes only.  If everyone in the group is slashing it around on a hole, keep playing.

If there is someone in the group without a handicap, record your scores on the card and the golf shop will figure out the match following your round.  We need to have everyone play at least 1 men’s club round in the first two weeks of league.

No Show:

Your team must have at least 1 player show up for league each week.  Subs will always be available if you need another player.  If your entire team can’t make it, you will receive 0 points for that week.  The team you were scheduled to play against will play against two subs and are guaranteed a minimum of 4 ½ points. 

Extras:

If you’re not scheduled to play on a given night of league and wish to come out, you have the opportunity to play as an extra.  All the extra players will be paired-up and sent out in foursomes.  Extras may participate in the weekly best ball, skins game, and closest to the pin games.  Some extras may be needed to sub in a match.

Weekly Game:

Every week we will have a net two-man best ball, gross skins, and a closest to the pin game.  The game is $10.00 per team and payable at the registration table.  $150.00 from the men’s club dues each week are used to supplement the pot.  The best ball and closest to the pin is paid in shop credit and the skins are paid out in cash.
