John "Doc" O'Neal, General Manager

Doc O’Neal joined The Estridge Companies and Wood Wind Golf Club in July of 2008. Prior to Wood Wind, Doc boasts a rich career of excellent experience in the golf world. Doc served as President and Director of Golf Operations for The Bridgewater Club from 1998 to 2008. Doc has served as President of Crooked Stick Golf Club, President of the Indiana Golf Foundation, President of the Carmel Dads’ Club and served as Chairman of the 1993 United States Women’s Open Championship played at Crooked Stick Golf Club.

Doc’s playing career includes State Championships for Carmel High School in 1971 and 1972, Captain and MVP for Purdue University in 1975 and 1976, Runner-up Indiana Player of the Year in 1977 and Runner-up in the Indiana State Amateur in 1997, Crooked Stick Club Champion in 1982 and 1988, Northern Open Champion in 1982 and was inducted into the Indiana High School Golf Hall of Fame in 1993.

Scott Heger, Head Golf Professional

Scott Heger brings his golf expertise from Minnesota where he graduated from Minnesota State University. A PGA Member since 1996, Scott has served Wood Wind Golf Club as the PGA Professional since November 2007.

Josh Harvey, Superintendent
  • Josh Harvey joined Wood Wind Golf Club as superintendent in 2008. He brings over 15 years of experience working on Midwest golf courses to Wood Wind. Josh realized his passion at the young age of 16 while working on golf courses cutting greens and changing cups.

    After receiving his Bachelor degree in Turf Science from the Purdue University School of Agriculture in 2001, Josh served several area golf courses including Crooked Stick Golf Club and The Bridgewater Club. Additionally, he offers a background with experience not only in dialy maintenance and conditioning, but also in course renovation, having completed three course renovation and construction projects.
Marlene Scott, Director of Food and Beverage

Marlene Scott joined Wood Wind Golf Club in July 2008 to manage Kelties on the Green and serve as the Director of Food and Beverage. With over 27 years of catering experience, Marlene utilizes her catering background and business degree to create an inviting experience for golfers and Wood Wind guests.

Jon Hoover, Class A PGA Member, Golf Instructor, Club Fitter, Club Repair Technician

Opening Wood Wind Golf Academy in January 2009, Jon Hoover offers students 18 years of professional experience. He is an expert in club fitting, repair and computer analysis, as well as a seasoned instructor. Jon holds certifications in Club Fitting for companies such as Mizuno, Ping, Callaway, and Taylor-Made, Club Repair Technician with Mitchell Golf and is also certified with True Temper Shafts and Fujikura. He was twice awarded Indiana PGA Merchandiser of the Year (Orchard Ridge Country Club), and was a finalist for National PGA Merchandiser of the Year (Orchard Ridge Country Club). Jon’s well-rounded skill sets include being an accomplished golfer, as well as accomplishments in club sales. Jon spent 14 years at Orchard Ridge Country Club as the Director of Golf prior his two years with Mizuno.

Jon has competed at multiple levels as a junior, amateur and professional. His student’s include players on Division I, II College Programs, Aquafina Junior Player of the Year and other competitive golfers, both male and female.

Crissy Klein, Class A PGA Member, Golf Instructor, Club Fitter

Crissy Klein has over 15 years experience as a golf professional and has taught golfers of all ages and abilities, from beginner to tournament player. A Class A member of the PGA for six years, she has competed on many levels in junior, amateur and professional golf, including playing in the 1995 US Women’s Open and four years on the Futures Tour. Additionally, she was a four-year member of the varsity golf team at the University of Notre Dame and a four-time qualifier for the IHSAA State Golf Tournament.

Teaching became the focus of her golf career while working at The Point Lake and Golf Club and Rolling Hills Country Club, both in North Carolina. Crissy also served The Sagamore Club in Noblesville as a junior golf instructor, and more recently, served as the men’s and women’s Assistant Golf Coach at IUPUI. She is familiar with developing both the player's swing and ability to compete, along with the mental attitude needed to be a winner. Crissy believes everyone can learn and enjoy the game of golf and is ready to take your game to the next level.

Brad Fellers, Class A PGA Member, Golf Instructor, Club Fitter, SAM Putting Certified

Brad Fellers brings a variety of professional experiences to the Academy team, including roles as a head professional, instructor, club fitter and playing professional. After graduating from the New Mexico State University Professional Golf Management program in 1997, Brad became a Class A PGA Member.  He has worked as a Head Professional at Picacho Hills Country Club in New Mexico, Foxcliff Golf Club in Martinsville, Indiana and was most recently part of the instruction/fitting team at the United States Golf Academy at Swan Lake Golf Resort in Plymouth, Indiana. Brad has extensive experience on the SAM PuttLab putter training system, as well as the TRACKMAN launch monitor. He is also an active competitor on the state and national level and has been a three time Indiana PGA Assistant Player of the Year.

Brad has a passion to help each player achieve their playing goals no matter the level which the student enjoys playing the game. His main focus is to assist the player to get their skills acquired in the practice area to the golf course in a manner to directly affect score.

Mark Mathews, Master Golf Club Fitter, Club Repair Technician, Instructor

Mark Mathews brings over 30 years of golf industry experience to the team. He has a passion for golf club fitting as a Master club fitter and a highly skilled custom clubmaker and repair technician. Mark has worked with countless students of all ages and ability levels helping them match their golf equipment to their golf swing needs. It is his belief that in combination with a students lesson program that the fitting of their golf clubs is one of the most important things that they can do if they want to improve their golf game by eliminating the need to compensate for poorly fit equipment as they learn the proper swing mechanics, resulting in accelerated  success and enjoyment of the game.

Mark’s golf accomplishments include a youth golf career that lasted through college, earning him All American awards and successful qualification as a participant in the USGA amateur events staged for juniors, boys and mens amateur golf. After college, Mark participated on the Australian PGA Tour for several years before taking a job with Ping Golf Equipment. His role with Ping was the birth of his passion for golf club design and its proper fitting to the golfer.
